Have a LH Remington 700 BDL in 7mm. Less than 100 rnds through it. Killed 2 critters and became a safe queen 10 years ago. Needs a good home....

Larger caliber you want but not bad on the recoil. Man that's a tough one. I know it's not larger than .284 and is .284, but the 280 AI sure is a sweet one and almost on the 7mm Remington's heels. I have one and the 140 gr. Partition was chronographed by me at 3230 fps and the 140 gr. Accubond at 3186 fps. It sure is effective and has some reach without beating a person up. I sure don't feel that my Model 70 in that chambering recoils bad at all.

What about 338-06 or 35 Whelen?? Probably not much help but both of those sure are sweet.

I’m confused by some of this. You won’t consider a 30-06 because of recoil but you would be interested in a 35 Whelen? The whelen will be much worse in the recoil department.
