Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14 x 40mm (30mm tube) for Tikka T3 Superlite

Gents - just purchased a Tikka T3 Superlite in 270.

Was considering putting the mentioned scope on it...any input on this scope?

Mount it up with a set of lw talley lows and it should be a great set-up! Hard to beat the tikka's for the money

will be a great scope. i have an older 1in CDS version on one of my rifles and love it. night and day better than a vortex hslr for about the same money and much lighter weight

I have a vx3 lr 4.5-14x50mm on my tikka it's a great setup. The leupold are much lighter than nightforces. I shot a deer at 916 ando an elk at 934 with scope when it was mounted on my RBROS 7mag.

I'll be the guy outside the box. Most people over-scope their rifle with more magnification than what is needed. If you plan to hunt nothing closer than 100yds, then it's a great scope. Closer than that, and even at 4.5x, it has a pretty narrow field of view for hunting. All of my new guns have been getting 2-7x mostly, and one 3-9x. Have a 4.5-14x on my 300RUM, for long range stuff, it's great. Hate it for closer stuff.
