Looking for Camcorder Recommendations

I'm looking at the newer Canon Vixia G70 and older Canon XA40. They're both around $1200. The other option is an older Canon Vixia G50 (refurbished) for around $800.

I've got a Canon 5D Mark IV that can shoot in 4k but its cropped in (1.74x), bloated file sizes and lacks the zoom range I'm looking for self filming hunts.

have you looked into a DSLR? you could definitely save some cash with something like a Nikon D800 shoots full HD with interchangeable lens (very useful for wildlife) - most of the jobs I've been on have used DSLRs - stick a mic on the hotshot and put it on a stabilizer or shoulder rig and your good to go

Haven't pulled the trigger but I've been eyeing Panasonics HC-VX1 looks like it has similar specs for about $800 as the Cannons. Little more zoom too. Zoom vs sensor size has me dragging my feet. I keep waiting for a big zoom, big sensor fits in your pocket for my budget kinda rig...still waiting.
