Mark 5HD 5-25 rings

I've read a few other threads of the forums about this topic but wasn't quite finding what I needed to know. I'm putting the Mark 5 on top of a defiance tenacity action with the 20MOA rail. How low can I get 35MM rings to get the clearance? I am looking at the Seekins precision rings, but would also like input on what other guys/gals are running for a similar set up.

I literally have 3 of this exact set up.
2 300 RUMs and a 6.5 PRC on Defiance actions with 20 MOA base and all 3 have 5-25x56 Mark 5’s. All use Seekins high (Vortex high works...same thing).

Seekins 1.0” on all of them. Here are two of the 3 rifles. “Maybe” a guy could have went with the low .95 but not sure.

Thanks pronghunter! Ill get a set of the highs coming for my build. How are you liking the scope? Im upgrading from a viper HSLR 6-24, and there shouldn't be a close comparison between the two.

Well to put it this way, I sold 2 ATACR’s and my NX8 and have 3 Mark 5HDs. All 5-25. Under 30oz each, excellent tracking, glass and so on. Of course the ATACR is excellent in every way....just too heavy for what I do at 40oz.

Weight and reliability pretty much made up my mind on the Mark5. I was looking at the maven RS.3 as well, but i had concerns with some of the features on it, and didn't really need 30x. I also looked at

This is also my debate, only on a Tikka T3X lite and Seeking .95 rings. Also wondering if I can get away with a 0moa rail and still get 1500 yards out of a 7mm and 180g ELDM'S. (Eventually be a 7SAUM)

If it were me, I would throw a 20 MOA rail on it to be safe.

Judging by you photos I would think the .95 rings would work on the factory T3X lite barrel. When I get the proof Sendero carbon 7SAUM I'd probably have to swap them out.

I’m pretty sure they would...if you shoot Harley an email at Seekins Precision, he can look up your setup and tell you exactly what you need. But I’m sure the lows would work the best.

Pretty sure I read on another forum that Hawkins is making rings now that will fit the 35 mm tube. Having a 6.5 PRC built now and going to put the MK 5 5-25 on it. Those seekins 1 inch look sweet.

I was looking at the specs of the 5-25 and the FOV at low power is relatively small. Does the 5-25 M5HD have the “looking through a paper towel roll” effect? My VX5HD at 3x has a massive FOV and no paper towel roll effect with very little black rim around the edges of the view.

I’m also interested in the Mark5 3.6-18x44 and it has a smaller FOV than the VX5 and VX6 HD series at low power.

I’m debating whether the VX5/6 HD series are a better fit for a hunting scope vs the Mark5 HDs.

For anyone interested, Hawkins now has a handful of the 35mm Low .885 Ultralight rings in stock again. I picked up a set today.
