Hey guys, what is the minimum seating depth for boatail bullets? I’ve read the minimum is at least one caliber deep to ensure concentricity in bolt actions. However, is this measured from bullet OAL or from the bearing surface only?

Edit: Just read another piece that said to make sure to seat deep enough that at least half the case neck covers the bearing surface, regardless of boat-tail or flat base. I just seated a few dummy rounds with this approach and they took several strikes from my kinetic puller to unseat. As a result, I think there is plenty of tension to hold them at this length.

Thoughts?
