I have 15 days in the field in my Mountain Hardwear Skyledge. Figured I'd give a quick review in case someone was looking for someone with experience with this tent.

Spacious and comfortable, I like the double vestibules/doors for storage. Rain fly performed well for condensation and the tent held up very well in winds in 20 and low 30 mph range.

A buddy of mine has the Mountain Hardwear Supermega UL2 and when we got back to camp one afternoon his tent was flipped over and since he had left his door open his sleeping bag and pad had fallen out and blown 100 yards away. Def not as sturdy of a tent and his rain fly was noticeably thinner.

Overall I really like the performance of this tent but my packed weight was just under 4 lbs, which is on the heavy side. Also, I felt the rain fly could have fit a bit better, I couldnt stake down both sides of the fly on each end of my tent. Attaching it to my tents clips and staking each vestibule was good enough but I felt like I would have had to really pull down to get both the steaks down on each end.

My next purchase for a tent is going to be the redesigned MSR Hubba NX 2 person. A little over 2 lbs and a very similar design to my skyledge.

I thought the Hubba NX 2 was more like 3.5lbs???

according to MSR's website the new redesigned 2014 model is 2 lbs and 2 oz without the footprint. Apparently, they we're able to use lighter zippers and thinner/lighter fabric that was as tough or tougher than the old stuff that weighed more, they redesigned the stakes as well, I know i heard some complaints about the old stakes. I may just use my mountain hardwear stakes with an MSR tent.

youre slightly confused here. thats whats referred to commonly as fast and light pitch. its JUST the footprint fly and poles. no tent body.
otherwise is 3lb7 plus stakes

I picked up the Skyledge 2 DP this past summer. Hope it works well for me. I don't see how this could possibly be listed as a 2 person tent. I fill this thing up by myself with just my X-therm (L) pad and sleeping bag.

Yeah I have one too, def not enough room for 2 people unless it was my wife. I think a lot of "2 person" tents are that way. I usually ignore the 1 or 2 person delineations and just look at floor area in square feet and height. It's really the only way, IMO, to get a good idea of the size of a tents interior. Also, each brand and tent is a little different. Some one person tents are nearly the same size as a 2 person in another brand.

I have a skyledge 2 dp and love it. Try it with just the fly, poles and footprint. Mine comes In at 2lb 6 oz with stakes. Without the inside layer there is much more room. I've slept two normal size guys in mine with gear.
