I’m pretty new to suppressors and have limited knowledge. Feel free to talk to me like I’m a first grader.
I just recently got a 30 cal can but have yet to shoot it. It’ll get most use on my AR, but I’ll pop it onto my 6.5 CM bolt rifle for some long range/hunting too. My biggest thing is minimizing cost- I just also got my Sig MPX K and 8” hand guard a week or so ago, and just as I typed that a moth fluttered out of my wallet.
I’m all set up for direct-threading my 30 cal can (AB A-10 Warthog, $30 thread adapter). It seems like that may not be that easy on my sub gun. I’ve seen quite a few mentions of tri lug adapters but I’m not sold on that route yet. I prefer a solid mount over speedy installation and takedown, which seems to be the tri lug trade off. Am I mistaken on that?
If my goal is a low price tag and solid mount, what should I go with? Also probably wouldn’t hurt for it to be low maintenance too, since I don’t know what the heck I’m doing.
Thanks in advance!

Generally speaking, you'll want steel. Shorter barrels have a lot more pressure and gas-heat than longer ones, so titanium cans in general would not be a good option. And there's no problem at all with direct-threading a K can on an SBR. It actually removes a lot of problems, and is generally lighter. If you're worried about it unthreading, just put a little vibratite on it. If you're looking for a durable, K-sized can that's on the cheaper end, the Polonium K is a pretty good option.

Does your MPX K have 1/2”-28 or M13.5x1 left hand threads? Seen them go both ways.

If 1/2”-28, the Shiv 9mm would be a solid option. Cheap ish, direct thread, light (2.5oz). Just thread it on and go.

If M13.5x1 LH then something like an SiCo Omega K or YHM R9 with a direct thread adapter would work well and not break the bank.

It almost sounds like you want to run the AB A-10 30 cal. suppressor on the MPX K. If this is the case, please remember that a 30 (.308) cal. can would be very unsafe on a 9mm (.355) firearm. If this is not the case, please ignore this post.

Head-slapper moment - OP, the Polonium K I recommended will most definitely not work on your 9mm subgun. Somehow what I read was that you were using a .223 pistol/SBR. Disregard.

Zero Fox, that Shiv looks really interesting. Haven't had any experience with these newer 3D-printed cans, but on some of them I see they have a lot of tiny vent-holes in the front. How are these things doing with high-round counts, in terms of fouling? I'd be concerned those tiny holes, and whatever the design internally is of the baffles/channels, would be more susceptible to getting clogged and becoming less effective with fouling at a faster rate than traditional designs. Any experience or info on this?

Most of the manufacturers with those features have recommended cleaning schedules on them to keep that from becoming an issue. Fairly easy with the new cleaners out these days.

We haven’t personally pushed a can with those tiny vent holes on the end cap to super high round counts yet. My FOR rifle cans have tiny holes in the blast baffles. Some of those are getting up there in round counts and haven’t had to clean them yet.

I haven’t seen anyone having issues with these design features on cans. Definitely something to keep in mind but not something I worry about.

Good to know, appreciate it.
