New scope

I’m looking for a new scope for my tikka 270 wsm. I want something with 2-4x low end and a minimum of 14x high end. I’m trying to stay as light as possible and be somewhere in the $5-750 range. Right now I’m looking at the Leupold VXIII 4-14x50 and the Vortex Viper HS 4-16x50. I really like the look of the Athlon Helos 4-20x50, but it’s significantly heavier than the other two. Any other suggestions?

considering the results of the testing for various leupold and vortex models on rokslide i dunno about either of those. that said i have the #180619 Leupold VX-3HD Rifle Scope 4.5-14x40 and i'm not disappointed.

but i also haven't dropped it yet....

I wouldnt get that Vortex model.

Trijicon Credo or Accupoint are RS popular. I have the Arken EPL model and it has been good, but it’s not super light.

Are you dialing?

I wouldnt get that Vortex model.

Trijicon Credo or Accupoint are RS popular. I have the Arken EPL model and it has been good, but it’s not super light.

I would say 90% of the time I won’t be dialing

Since you mentioned Athlon, I had a 4-20 Argos on a 223. Dialing and RTZ were good for me. Probably 100/150 rounds worth on a 8.5# rifle.

Since dialing came up, which under $1000 scope is proven to track good.

If you want more versatility, a Leupold 2-10 would be a great choice.
