I’m curious, I keep reading here that Roughtechs have the metric thread pitch on the barrel.
I bought a Roughtech about 2.5 years ago. Mine is 5/8-24. Why would they use 2 different pitches?

Awesome fast shipping from EuroOptic, signed papers on this yesterday. Hopefully it shoots half as good as it looks and feels. Tikka did a nice job on this model

Normal Roughtech models, including the Specter, should have the heavier (D18?) barrel profile and 5/8-24 muzzle thread.
EuroOptic has an exclusive Roughtech Superlite as well (what this thread is about) that has the normal lite contour barrel and M15x1 muzzle threads.
Newer Tikkas are standardizing on the 5/8-24 muzzle threads by taking the lite contour and flaring it out at the muzzle.

Will these Superlite Roughtechs ever be offered with 5/8x24? Super tempted to pick one of these up, but the M15 threading is a pretty turn off for me.

These are from my 20” 6.5 CM Tikka with Hornady factory ammunition. The 140-grain ELDMs were the most accurate in my rifle.

So how much of the 6.5cm performance is a guy giving up between the slower Tikka and the shorter barrel?

@EuroOptic or anyone else who has this exact super lite rifle with the thread adapter - I am assuming a suppressor threaded with 5/8x24 can be used.

Does the adapter affect accuracy when a suppressor used or is it just an aesthetics thing?

One guy asked for pics with and without the adapter but I didn’t see if anyone threw one up.

That's a picture of the adapter on the barrel. I have the superlite with M15x1 threads, and the adapter up to 5/8-24 looks exactly like that.
I am unsure if the adapter from the .223 is any different.
General downsides of adapters: extra interfaces for tolerance accumulation and parts to come loose, extra mass and length. The adapter it comes with seems completely fine, but I bought a titanium M15x1 HUB mount for my can to shorten it by ~5/8" and drop a little weight...just a little simpler than having the extra adapter in there.

Edit: just remembered my first range trip with this rifle used the included adapter. Shot a 2 factory loads, the 5 shot groups were approx. .7" and .8" at 100 yards. Adapter was perfectly fine.

I’m looking for some advice and here is the goal:

Tikka 6.5 Creedmoor, stainless steel or cerakoted with stainless under, fluted barrel and fluted bolt and I will be using a suppressor. I bought a tikka t3x compact stock so my son can use it, so it has to be able to fit into that (which I’m told it will). I also have a SRS tikka rail for it

This seems to fit the bill but I’ll have to use the adapter, which I don’t know if I’m a fan of or not.

This is a nice option but is the heavier barrel profile (I think) therefore a little heavier. Would there be an issue with balance if putting it into a compact stock?

This is the 3rd option but is 22” and the heavier barrel profile (I think). I guess I could eventually cut it down to 20” but same question - with it being longer and heavier barrel, any potential issues with balance in a compact stock?

The m15 to 5/8-24 adapter adds an annoying 3/4" or so to the barrel. I plan to cut mine to 18 or 19", so its not a big deal for me (and i saved $50). Id recommend the $999 20" barrel version with 5/8" threads if you'll never cut it and to not overthink the balance. Otherwise get the 22" barrel lite version and used the saved cash to chop it.
