NFA Approval after January 1

Submitted 2/25 - SilencerShop SS Trust
Approved - 3/25
Should have been faster, but could have been much worse.

Submitted 3/18 Individual
Approved 3/25

Excited to finally get my hands on the Airlock ZG 7mm

Hey guys with all the changes since I bought my last can I just am trying to make sure I understand who I should be paying or what.

We just ordered a can from Bergara (BTi30) and they said to contact my gun shop to have it shipped there (same as my UM can in 2025)

And the gun shop is quoting me $100 for the transfer. Does that sound about right?

🙏

That is in line with what most are currently asking. As you might imagine, there is a lot of discussion online as to whether it's justified. I have no idea what goes into it. If you look hard, you might find cheaper, but it wouldn't surprise me if you can't.

My FFL is a dealer for Silencer Shop, so they don't charge anything for the transfer if it's a can bought online from SS.

Ok guys, that’s what I needed to know👊👊

I submitted (myself, via the eforms site) for two sbr's and one homebuilt can since Jan 6th.
First sbr was 9 days, second was 16 days
They were submitted about two weeks apart.
The can took 5 weeks.
None were trusts, so that speeds things up a bit.

Last year in February i submitted (paid the stamp) for an sbr and it was approved in six days.

Good catch.

I was thinking about buying direct from a manufacturer when I typed out my post above. It wouldn't apply if you are buying from a gun shop or through silencer shop. My understanding is that to be a silencer shop dealer a gun shop is not allowed to charge a transfer on silencer shop orders.

sorry if I missed this earlier in the thread, but is there a way to check your application on eforms website, if one has been waiting and not received an email?

OG6.5 was submitted on Jan 5 and denied today due to fbi delay. I've been on the phone with all of them today and it was no help. Everyone was real nice but none could give me answers or help me. I've had over a dozen suppressor approvals and that many or twice that many gun approvals in the last 5-10 years.

Anybody with a trust been tempted to buy one as an individual, get the quick transfer and then transfer it to their trust after the fact?

It would make more sense to me if trust wait times were a year instead of a month, or if I didn't already have a few suppressors and wanted one now. I guess there's no guarantee of a fast transfer either, but individuals have been getting them quicker on average.
