For those of you who have experience with both, which do you prefer? I’m looking at either a Zeiss V4 6-24x50 or a NF SHV 5-20x56. Need to to be able to track well, and be dependable obviously. Not a crazy long range shooter, but do consistently shoot out to 300 and 400 yards and plan to go shoot steel at 1000 yards this summer. Primarily in hunting scenarios, will be shooting 600 yards and in. Which should I go with?

For what you describe using it for I’d get the shv but in the 3-10x.

Night force, look at the zeiss warranty post. Even before reading that, I still would have bought NF. In fact I did, I bought 2 recently.

Have both the shv and the V4 but I believe it is the 4-16 x 44mm model.
I like them both, cant really go wrong with either.
I like the parallax adjustment more on the nightforce. My zeiss is a little sticky, not as smooth.
I think I prefer the glass in the zeiss better.

I have SHVs and previous gen Zeiss HD5 which the V4 replaced. The SHV is better built. Compared against the modern V4 and again same conclusion. The V4 maybe had better view, but for pure aiming reliability I'll take the NF. I wish the NF had exposed turrets that were locking like on the Zeiss though.
