*** NOTE - This is a re-listing. I withdrew this listing because I thought the AF motor had quit working in this lens. Turns out it was a problem with the D7200 body I was using and NOT the lens. AF works great with my Z6. So it's back up for sale and I have dropped the price. ***
Selling my wildlife workhorse - a 600mm f/4 AF-S II Nikkor lens. This is an autofocus lens that will fit any Nikon body, including the newest mirrorless bodies with the FTZ adapter. This is a serious wildlife photographers lens. The 600 f/4 has long been considered the ultimate wildlife lens and is used by all the pros, albeit in newer models than this one. This lens is from the mid-2000's and the II version of the AF-S is the lightest weight 600 f/4 lens that Nikon made. It lacks image stabilization (called VR or Vibration Reduction in Nikon lenses) but for a lens this heavy you will always have it on a tripod anyway, so IS (or VR) isn't that important.
Glass is perfect front and back. Filter ring has a small ding but you don't use filters on a lens this big, and I have installed a high end Zemlin aftermarket lens hood that is bulletproof and easy to use. Includes matching Zemlin lens cap and Wimberly Arca-Swiss foot. Just the accessories for this lens cost me over $350.
Autofocus is quick and quiet. Comes with factory hard case which is a beast all by itself.
I will include a Gimbal head for your tripod as you will need it with this lens.
Image samples are available on request, but I've attached a few below with this listing.
Now just $2200 shipped CONUS.
