I was waiting for the Seekins PH3 NRL, thinking it was going to be the latest and greatest and make my PH2 obsolete, but with the weight they come in, it really cuts into available accessories and still keeping the weight under 12lbs. What other rifles are you guys looking at? I'm considering the MgLite, but I've heard some accuracy issues with them, the Sig Cross is a good option but I wish it had a better trigger. Springfield Waypoint is up there as well, any others I'm missing?

I take back my previous comment. The ph2 NRL is still going to be a contender, but and extra pound for factory class they announced today will open up some other options.

Every weight class should get a 1# allowance for supressor use.

Tikka ctr or ph2 standard or nrl. I put an area 419 arca on my ph2, since it uses the existing action screw and front sling stud it technically applies. My ctr has a SRS hunter rail, front sling stud and utilizes a screw installed in the oem boss thats in front the froward action screw.

PH2 is still 1# lighter than the ctr.

Is it the 20 or the 24 ctr? Whats the weight on it?

Looking forward to seeing the T3x Ace in 6mm Creedmoor.
What's the bare rifle weight with that? I was looking at that weight as well. My main hinderance is I need a hefty scope because my eyes are so bad. I'm thinking it might be cheaper to go get Lasik lol

Factory weight limit got bumped to 13 pounds, and you get an additional 10 oz allowance if you use a bone-stock suppressor.

Basically any factory rifle with any scope and any bipod should easily make weight now.

13# puts the Tikka UPR in play more too. And the ACE game could actually make weight with a decent scope and bipod as well. I'd choose either over a CTR.

Sako 90 quest or quest ultra might be other options? Quest comes in 243 with an 8 twist.

I'm running the MG lite with the carbon barrel. Its a hammer with the 140 ELDM white box! only downside is its slow. quite a bit under power factor, but don't need to hit power factor with the factory ammo.

Why push it?
My deficiencies in NRL are mostly wind call related if we exclude a hard to find targets here and there and maybe a bad position/Setup. (Looking at you clovis match!)

I did a 1 day and crushed it with my 25 prc. I was one shot off of 2nd. Im sure I wouldve done OK with my 6.5 creed. But I doubt that good. I was one of the only cleans on a 2 elk stage that was 600-800 after the wind picked up later in the morning. It was tricky to decipher the wind at that shooting position, but it was stronger then most would guess at the target.

Ive got a 28" 25 creed barrel coming. Im thinking I should get 2950-3000 fps pretty mildly.

My wind calls will be a 1/3 less with that over my 6.5 load.

I know a lot of guys like to go pretty slow so they can recover and see their hits/misses. Im going with the "dont miss" strategy. More first round impacts = more points.

And back on the 243 subject. I dont think 3000 is a crazy load for it. A 243 should get a little more juice then a 6 creed.

1 day match, that's basically open heavy weight limits right? Are you spotting everything in the scope? I understand even a lower recoil cartridge(creed VS prc) with a very poor position will make spotting shots tough. Running a brake or can?

Seeing your impact or miss is paramount. If you're not seeing 85% or more of rounds down range, your need a lower recoil cartridge and fundamental work.

A 28in 25cm at 2900fps will be near 60k psi, I would not push harder than that honestly. As long you're above power factor it does not matter. You may have 0.1 mil less wind at 750y, but is you're system/shooter combo capable of splitting the difference?
