The snowshoe hares are transitioning from white to brown right now up here...


...and enjoying afternoon naps in the shade beneath spruce trees on ground that's clear of snow.

Mountain Bluebird down here in western Montana.

A few squawks on an elk call and this guy swam across the river to me. This was about 30 minutes after I shot a moose sitting in the same spot.
