Bought this rifle 10 years ago out of a pawn shop. I have shot maybe 10 round through it. It is time for it to leave.

Pre 64 Winchester model 88 in 308. Has a 36000’s serial number. Blueing is pretty warm off. Stock is in good shape. If you desire a gunsmith to check it out before buying, we can figure it out.

$800.00 includes shipping to your ffl, PayPal friends family or Venmo

Would trade for R700sa or a tikka in 223.

Yep, pretty much is. The Model 100 was just the new version.
I didn't know that. I've just been getting into my model 100 to replace the extractor/ejector that quit working to get it ready for my son. Did some research and really think it's a cool rifle with some interesting history. Definitely a neat rifle to have shot my first and still biggest buck with.

I hope your lever is easier to take apart and clean than my model 100!

I guess I shouldn’t say “newer” more like above statement semi vs lever. A lot of same style just the semi just came later on. Winchester fanatics might castrate for being so vague. I am
Not expert in these.

I knew what you meant and I don't get stuck up about guns. I was just happy to learn that this existed. After doing some research I found that they released a .243 carbine version. If I ever happen to run across one I think I'd have to buy it. Having a model 88 and 100 in .243 would be really cool to me. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, that would be a nice set, I actually shot my very first deer in a 88 chambered in .243.
