Quality .22 LR Semi-auto Rifle

I'm looking to purchase a high quality .22 LR semi-auto and am researching brands. I know that Volquartsen is a highly regarded rifle and wonder if there are other rifles out there that I'm missing. I know that most folks just buy a 10/22, add a Kidd barrel and trigger and go from there. I'm willing to do that as well, but I'm looking down this rabbit hole first. Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

My tacsol is pretty great.

Basically an10/22 clone, canted rail, a nice barrel, hogue stock (but I wish I’d gotten the magpul stock) uses 10/22 magazines. It’s extremely accurate with whatever I put in it.

I've seen some CZs shoot really good.
Remember to be out of the ordinary good, you cant shoot cheap ammo

I've got a Kidd Supergrade with one of their ultra light barrels. I'm plenty happy with it. All I've shot with it are Cci Standard Velocity and it regularly shoots 3/8 groups at 50 yards. Maybe someday I'll try some higher end ammo but I'm satisfied.

I'd personally stay with a semi auto. It's so nice to stay in the scope with your finger on the trigger and plink away.

I have some 10/22s and they are fine donor guns. I would say they build quality is functional but unimpressive these days. Triggers need some work or replacement depending on your use and only one of my three with factory barrels is really a precise shooter and it is picky about ammo.

I would look at a switchbolt. For not a lot more $ you won’t feel the need to swap the barrel and probably not the trigger.

Volquartsen is nice but I think you pay a lot for the name.

Be careful if you are a tinkerer. 10/22s are like ARs. There is a whole industry built around accessories and they also tend to multiply in your gun safe when your wife isn’t looking.

I get to spend a lot of time shooting at my home range and these have been great/accurate and fun because they are a bit different.

I have and love my model 60, and a vintage 552 is a lusty object, too. The Remington is built like a full size rifle.

Ruger LVT, drop in a Kidd trigger kit, mine is sub MOA @ 50 yards with a couple of good subsonic or match ammo. $325 or a little less when I bought it.
