Quick trip to SW MT in early Oct - Flyfishing?

Making a real quick trip to MT in early Oct with my wife. Both of us are novice fly fishermen but would like to do at least one day of fishing while there. Plans are to spend some time in Yellowstone but also have plans to be in Ennis, W. Yellowstone, Big Sky, etc. I've been doing some research online and just wondering what your recommendations are as to should I book a trip through a local fly shop or should I go with an outfitter that could accommodate us for just a day? I've found an outfitter in Twin Bridges that I'm interested in and have also talked to several fly shops in Ennis. Would appreciate any recommendations or guidance you could share. Thanks!
