Removing CTR factory rail

I've put my CTR on a diet as have others on the site. No more fried chicken for this ole boy. I changed my stock a while back and just recently did a thread on the weight differences of a Lite and CTR. That rail on the CTR is on there!!! I removed all the screws and I would assume its epoxied or glued or some sort from the factory to the action. How did you guys remove the rail? I have a trijicon coming and I'm looking for some mounting options.

Do I keep the rail on and get some lite 30mm rings? remove the rail and go with a different setup? The rail with screws appears to be 3.8oz, according to another thread.

There is a thread on here that was helpful. I think some people have used hear to loosen the glue. I just used a butter knife and gentle pressure. Pops right off after a few minutes.
