Hard to make any conclusions off on one very small study. Viruses are pretty tough for drugs to kill in general especially compared to bacteria where we have plenty of great antibiotics. Antivirals are out there but in general they just don’t work quite that well. So I am not terribly optimistic of an antiviral helping us much. The long term solution is a vaccine which is a long ways out. But in the meantime hopefully we can find ways to treat the sickest patients. Ideally America will hold fast and take the social distancing seriously so that we don’t overwhelm our system and we can deliver the excellent care that America is capable of.
