Scope to Rail Clearance

I got my Sig Cross setup with my scope mounted and after getting the eye relief set and everything I noticed I got it very close to the pic rail. I can fit a credit card through there with a tiny bit of contact.

I don’t want to take it all apart and re-zero it’s shooting great. There’s no sign of contact, and it’s a 6.5 CM so not a ton of recoil. This is also the eye piece so I’d think a pretty minimal flex spot…

Can you guys please put my mind at ease so I can forget about it?

I can get a 0.050” Allen key through the gap and from everything I’ve read everywhere that’s safe. I’d think the “back of the rail to eyepiece” would not move nearly as much as if you had the “bell to barrel” too close.

This allows for .040” clearance and it works fine. My design, my gunsmith thought it was pretty ingenious. Allows me to use medium rings instead of highs.

I can barely fit a piece of paper between the chamber and the bell of my scope, still works great.
