I got UP TO 27” by switching from a typical finger release to a thumb release. Same anchor point, but the D-loop is an inch deeper into my jawline.
My newer bow is a Bowtech BTX28 set at 27” on the ‘comfort’ setting. In the shop I was pulling 65lb and getting speeds in the 277 range with 405gr FMJs. I shoot 430 Gr Axis now after losing faith in the FMJs but haven’t been through a chrono.
I did have the limbs de-lam after the NW Mountain Challenge last year. The bow was in my truck in 100 degree heat. Bowtech worked with me to get solid limbs and were very nice about it.
My son started with a new Diamond Edge Pro Elite. He was 10 but strong and he was drawing 24” and 24 lb but quickly moved up to 27” and 64lb now. That bow is smooth, quiet and light. It hasn’t been through the chrono but it’s zipping right along. That Diamond bow is so impressive for $399 new.

I know this is almost a year later, but I ended up purchasing a sr6 and curious how you like your setup with the hexx and 75gr insert, 125gr head. I ran something similar this year past year. Axis 340s cut at 26” 75gr insert, 125 head and I’m at 27” draw at performance setting on the SR6. I had a bit of finagling to do to get it to bares shaft tune and a little to get montecS to fly consistent.

Wondering what your DL was prior to the switch? Was the release change worth the gain in DL?

X nock I believe (whatever comes with the axis)
Total weight is right around 470 gn
Not sure on the chrono speed but I’m using a MBG 275 ish FPS tape
Took me years to realize that I was selling myself short with light fast arrows. I went heavy 3 years ago and will never go back. I could probably drop 20 gn or so but these thing fly great (I shoot out to 100 regularly) and they hit hard.
