I've read good things about the Sightron S1 G2 scopes, but not much of what I've heard reflects any hard use. I'd be interested to see if anyone here has put one of these to use and can reflect on its ability to retain zero.

What would you compare the glass to?I recently acquired the 1.75-5. It’s a nice little scope for the money. I have it on a rifle I am currently working on bedding so I haven’t yet worked it over. Once the rifle is ready I was going to do a tall target test and then drop it and retest zero, a la Form. Eye relief and glass is really quite good.
I know this thread is a bit old but have you retested at all? Currently have one on a 308 that I’m impressed with just unsure if I want any more yet? Mine is also in ruger rings. So far my sightron s1 g2 results:
Tall target test (20 MOA): it dialed 18 MOA to reach 20 MOA. It returned to zero each time.
Drop tests: the first time I dropped it twice per side at 36” on a 1/2” mat in the house on carpet. Went and shot a 10 shot group. The rifle was hitting down about 1 MOA and right 1/2 MOA. Repeated the test another day, and dropped it three times per side at 36”. Shot another 10 shot group. The rifle was then shooting 1 MOA left from the last test, and 2-3 MOA high from the last test.
This was done with a Ruger m77 that has been bedded and torqued down with a torque wrench. The rings are Ruger rings, torqued to the receiver at 30 inch pounds and the rings themselves torqued to 20 inch pounds. I don’t have great faith in the rings after just removing the scope tonight. There is ring scouring and the front ring has slightly dented and scratched the front of the scope tube where the top and bottom half of the ring comes together on one side. That’s annoying.
Those are the results so far. Maybe it needs to be tested in different rings, but if I do that it will be awhile.
I ended up checking the rings, and they needed lapping. Lapped the rings and gained much better surface contact and alignment. Reinstalled but never re tested the drop test. I then sold that rifleI know this thread is a bit old but have you retested at all? Currently have one on a 308 that I’m impressed with just unsure if I want any more yet? Mine is also in ruger rings.
