Roksliders it's a new a year and I want to start a fresh thread on SKRE Gear. Last year's Ultimate SKRE Review has a bunch of great info in it but it's lengthy. This again will be a place to post all things SKRE; from the latest and greatest to old reliable that never gets left home.

Here's the 2019 western expo SKRE booth. Great event to meeting up with the guys talk hunting and finding out about some of the new releases scheduled for 2019.
Two things drive the innovation of garments at SKRE -- one being user feedback and the other is owners that are themselves hardcore hunters and find a void in the overall clothing system that needs filled. While everyone may not benefit from every single garment options are always great and anyone that's followed my reviews the last couple of years knows I'll need to try them all. So here we go....

For 2019 SKRE Gear has revamped it's entire Alpine line up. With a archery season that starts in mid August that makes for a very early summer scouting season when day time temperature can really soar. I'm super excited to see how these new pieces will fill that niche.
Alpine short were a easy choice for a must try item in 2019

Are the shorts a different material than the early season pants?

I own the hardscrabble pant and jacket, merino top, and hoodie. They are holding up to the thick Louisiana briars way better than I expected. I’m very happy with Skre and definitely will be buying more stuff.

Thanks. That's some good info I'm sure those briar thickets are hell on gear.

Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you as I've been sick.

Yes both the Alpine shorts and Uinta pants use the Mnt-Lite micro grid air matrix fabric.

The Alpine's have the same excellent hip vents as the Uinta's

SKRE continues to use the awesome no slip waist line and reenforced waist button

I've only worn these a short time around the house but I did swap back and forth a few times with the early season pants. I came to the conclusion that they do seem to have the exact same fit as the Uinta's only stop at the knee.

The same two way stretch 100% polyester Mtn-Lite micro air matrix fabric is super comfortable and super quiet. I loved the fit and features of the Uinta's last season and really look forward to wearing the Alpine shorts in those super hot scouting sessions in July.

I just seen on Social media that SKRE released an updated Alpine top. Anyone order it up yet? Looks like it's 10% off right now

Be interesting how it compares to the kaibab mernio wool for warmer temperatures.

Also interested in the updated alpine shirts. I didn’t find any details about what exactly changed so if someone knows...

I am really liking what SKRE is putting out right now...I mostly run Kuiu but I am really interested in SKRE and might start adding some of their pieces to my hunting attire

SKRE said that pretty much every about the Alpine shirt has been improved. It's built out of a totally new fabric - core wick lite. It's still on sale for 10% off with code ALPINE

I took advantage and got one on the way. I'll get some details posted up when I finish my work hitch.

They make some quality garments for sure. What pieces have you been looking at? If you order some up we would love to have you post up your thoughts here.

I was looking at the base layers and possibly the shorts. In a perfect world, I would have the cash to buy the entire set and try it all out haha! But if I end up buying the base layers and/or the shorts, I will definitely post my thoughts here.

Would like to hear your thoughts on the shorts. I had to get a few items to start and they didn’t make my list.

I really like the micro grid air max fabric, SKRE has used it for the last couple seasons on the Uinta pants. It's very soft to the touch and super light wieght and it drys quickly. I don't think it's a stretch to say these Alpine shorts are going to perform well when the temperature climbs. As a performance short I just don't see how they can disappoint.
