Sportmatch rings on a tikka t3x

Looking for some help determining which height rings I need. I am mounting a Nightforce 2.5-10x42 on a tikka t3x with the standard profile barrel and just curious which height rings I should buy? Then would that change if I swapped out the barrel for a carbon prefit from proof or carbon six. Any guidance would be great!

I should add this is only temporary as I plan to get the unknown munitions tikka rings when they are released.

I highly doubt the T084's will work with a carbon barrel. They weren't tall enough to clear a 50mm on a factory Tikka D18 I set up last week.

Was anybody able to run the T084 with a proof barrel or what sportsmatch are you running with a carbon barrel? Just received a set of T084s but still waiting on the gun to be finished.

I run T084s with a vx6HD 2-12x 42 with carbon six featherweight. Not much room but clears.

I didnt have enough clearance with the smallest HCA carbon contour, T084s, and the NXS compact 42mm but it was damn close. I think my shank might have been 1.2” though because that tikka had the action face squared with a rem style recoil lug added. Smaller shank might have fit. They do work with a swfa 3-9 though!

Anyone running the T084s on a CTR with a Proof pre-fit? Just wondering how much clearance there is with a 42mm objective. Thanks

A proof contour would be 0.032” lower at the shank than the contour on the picture I posted above. Pretty damn close. I’d just get higher rings and build your cheek up a little on the stock if needed.

Maybe. That picture was taken as I started to screw in the front ring caps but they were not torqued down because I saw the contact. It's been a few years so I dont remember if the cap was nearly there or had a ways to go yet.

I assume you're aware that you'd have to get rid of the CTR pic rail to use the TO84s?
