Springfield 2020 Waypoint in 300 Win Mag and 7mm Rem Mag listed as coming soon on a few websites?

I found them listed as coming soon on Midway USA and a current offering on Sportsman's Warehouse and Bud's. See links below. Can't be an error with that many, right? The 300 Win Mag is listed with CF 24" barrel and adjustable stock at 8.12 lbs.

I haven't been able to find a press release, and they aren't on the Springfield website.

I've held off on the 2020 hoping for a better elk country chambering. Maybe wishes are coming true.

According to Midway's specs, the 7 Mag will be 1/8, which is great. It makes me wonder why it wasn't introduced in 7 PRC first.

I had seen a 7mm PRC rumor as well so my prediction is that website is incorrectly labeled as 7 Rem Mag and it will be a PRC rather than an 8" twist RM

The 308 version has been a growing temptation. Especially since I’m increasingly realizing I shouldn’t shoot at game past 400 yards anyway.

Either they are being proactive with a fast twist 7mm Rem Mag or it is as you say and actually a 7 PRC. Hard to say what I’d prefer as I’m not seeing much 7 PRC ammo or brass available, and if I have to hand load I could just put high bc 7mm bullets in the fast twist 7 Rem mag anyway.

I have one and it is an awesome gun, with the right factory or hand loads you can effectively go past 500yds on elk.

Why all my other rifles sit collecting dust, the Waypoint 308 leaves little and I stretch mine out a little further. Coyotes to elk my 308's have never let me down.

That would be the X factor for sure. Wouldn’t want to intrude too much into the powder column to make them work.

Accurate mag makes aics mags that hold 3.850". I would assume they'd work in the waypoint but I'm not sure. I'd also be curious to know what mag they ship the gun with.

does anybody have a contact at one of the distributors listed above? i would imagine they could take a peek in the box and confirm. In either case, a long action waypoint is exciting... the waypoint is what started me down the road of semi custom vs custom rifles...

I always wanted a .300 but the 7 mag is advertised as 1:8 twist.... has me curious to say the least.

I called springfield customer service this morning after seeing a few of these calibers hit the broker sites and seeing them on big box sites (same as above).... they were NOT able to answer any of my questions regarding new caliber releases. They advised I may have missed a press release but that they are not privy to any additional caliber information, that is reserved for the "higher ups," and we don't have the ability to transfer your call to them.

Has anybody placed an order yet?

Where/When was the rumor? I had read that Springfield was listed as 7prc MFG according to Hornady...

I saw this as well and came here to check, hoping this is true. Nothing at all listed on Springfield's website still but additional calibers whether they're RM/WM or PRC would be extremely appealing to me.

I reached out to a seller on a broker site and he provided a photo of the barrel engraving from Springfield, it read" 7mm Rem Mag." They have rem mag and .300 WM advertised in the market place.

I'm still amazed they (S.A.) didn't run a press release to drop the specs on the additions to the waypoint lineup.
