Statement of Interest - Leadership Training Program

Hey guys - I work for the gov and have been strongly encouraged to apply for an executive leadership training program offered by OPM. As part of my application package, I need to to provide a statement of interest in the program that includes why they should invest this money in me. I am struggling to even come up with a few sentences, so not off to a great start. Anybody had to put together a similar application package? Any advice or guidance you can give me?

OK, maybe not. One thought would be to look at the agenda of the executive leadership training program, and outline how those topics or areas of study would be helpful to you as an individual and as an employee of the government. Another approach would be to tie the motto/slogan/mission/vision of the area of the governemnt you are in to the training program, and then highlight why that would benefit you in that role or capacity.

Long way to say try and figure out what the organization is about, what the training is about, and then tie it to yourself.
