How many layers of epoxy do you have on there at this point? Just one? I want to do something like this with my Alterra.
Unfortunately I tried that spray on truck bed liner and did not love it. I whish I had not done that as I put a couple of heavy coats. That marine Tex is just one thin layer. I used the popsicle stick to raise it to peaks after I spread it on, then waited an hour or so and used a wet nitrile glove to tap the peaks down so I could avoid sanding it. It feels very good. Plus, the marine Tex color is nice. I will still probably sponge paint the stock a little.

I mean the plumbers putty stuff that you used to build up the majority of the angle.

Oh! Yeah I made up three pieces. I also wanted to increase the palm swell. That plumbers stuff comes in a long roll that’s about 3/4” in diameter. Each piece I cut off the roll was about 1”.

That's pretty slick, and it seems to adhere well to the carbon or other epoxy?

It seems to shoot very well without any bedding. So far, I’m pretty happy with this set up after one Range session this morning. This target is 25 shots.IMG_8993.jpeg

Massive Sale at Stockys ends today. Carbon Fiber stocks for $399! looks to include all the carbon fiber options! discount appears in cart. I put the new cheek riser version of the VG hunter in my cart (usually 799) and it even came up as 399!

Went through 20+ pages in this thread, has anyone installed a picatinny rail out front on one these? Or a srs hunter rail?

Just an FYI, the SRS Hunter rail is just a tad long for the Tikka VG stock. I ordered a couple of them a while back and I intended to put one on my 6.5CM that sits in one of the Stocky's stock. The pic portion of the rail extended past the end of the forearm.

I don't have any pics of what it may look like on a Stocky's as I mounted them on other stocks. I can try to get a pic of the length of the forearm portion of my Stocky's VG Tikka stock.
Here we go. Trimmed down the hunters rail. Need to clean it up with some sanding and epoxy the t nut in. But I’m happy with how it’s turning out. IMG_6046.jpeg

Is the heel of this stock any higher and closer to boreline than the factory synthetic stock? If so, how much?

Factory drop appears to be about an inch. The VG Hunter is about half an inch and the comb is parallel to the bore.

Another brag on Stocky's post. I ordered a VG2 Rem 700 for my Bighorn with the 30% off code. It was "backordered" but I had it within about a week and a half. This is my third stock from Stocky's and they have all been great. Love to see them being so active on the board and acutally "listening" to customers, props for sure. Definitely gonna snag a tikka version or the Rokstok, kinda waiting and seeing. But the rem VG2 is top notch.

Torqued it to 45 in/lbs and it shot great. Just as accurate as it was in the AG stock it replaced. I got the plain carbon version, added a bit of sponge camo and opened up the ejection inlet to fit the Bighorn. Loving it so far, very good quality imo. Nothing but good things to say about Stocky's on my end.

That looks sharp! What did you use to paint it?

Got mine put together, 22" 7PRC with the VG stock. Heck of a deal on Black Friday for the barrel and stock combo and its finally together. Added a sponge paint job and some layers of Matte clear. Will shoot it when I get the scope in and mounted. 6lbs 6oz as pictured.
