Stove heat on carbon pole

How do the carbon fiber poles in tipis hold up against the radiated heat from a stove? Seems like they all have the stove set up pretty close to the pole. Nobody is having any damage to the pole from heat?

The carbon pole in my 12 person teepee suffered damage after a deer hunt. The pole ‘bent’ and took a set and was damaged to the point the pole would not collapse. I replaced it with an aluminum center pole.

i use aluminum so i dont have a carbon pole but.....

would wrapping it with aluminum foil be enough protection?

I wonder if som ti fishing could make a guard that didn't touch the pole

Mine did fine last year

I always try to position stove a smidge away from the carbon pole the best I can

I always test and see if pole is getting hot and I haven’t felt it “hot” but it did get “warm”
