Stryker XL for Whitetail?

I got a Stryker when they first came out and loved it. Still got it, actually. I picked up a used XL and while I haven't used it as much, it has all the things I wish the OG Stryker does. As far as a do it all pack its hard to go wrong with the Stryker XL.

The 18l is like a hip pack on a set of pack straps. I already have a 28 as well, but its a different animal. You might not like the 18 either, of course. Id have to try but I think your stick carrying would be a no-go for me, so we clearly have a different perspective on this, but imo it objectively works extremely well and addresses at least some of your gripes. Imo that 18 is unlike anything else Ive ever seen because it sits so low on your back—the top of the pack bag is around the middle of your back, so ducking and weaving through brush its like you arent wearing a pack at all b/c there is literally nothing there to catch on anything.View attachment 958946
How to do you hang your bag in the tree? I have a guide light frame I use when a drag out or four-wheeler isn't an option. I always feel like the bag takes up so much room in the tree because of the hip belt

@johnw3474 I have an 18” prussik that lives full-time on the top grab-loop on the pack bag. Its the yellow cord visible in the photo I posted. In addition to being a spare prussik, I hang the pack by this loop from the same strap I hang bow and anything else. It hangs with the hip belt wrapped around the tree (small enough tree I sometimes even buckle it around the tree), with the top of the pack about my crotch level or a little lower. I can use the pack as a knee pad this way, hip belt is out of the way, the pack is out of the way of my bow, and I have easy access to pack contents.

Any photos you could share of this setup? Have recently ordered a Stryker XL (already have the Tethrd platform pack) and am interested in this setup that you described. Thanks!
Just need 4 clips

I purchased the Stryker XL for same reason. Couple things I’ve found that I didn’t really like. The bag sags off the frame and is pretty floppy. Kinda drive me nuts. The strap salad like either poster mentioned, the bulkiness of the bag in the tree, and the lack of internal organization pockets. Pack is comfortable, built well and like the concept of packing out of tag out. I do like the idea of the predator pack though. I don’t like the idea of the platform and sticks standoffs rubbing against the pack, the tethered pouch may solve that. Good info in here
