Because this scope is the Non-hd model, I know the question will come up. Is it worth the extra money for the HD. You can decide for yourself...this scope shows some chromatic aberration... the question is does that really matter to you. Here are some photo's from last year, with this scope (phoneskope and an Iphone X). Elk on snow is about the worst scenario possible for CA. One photo is at 20x and one is at 60x.

Those elk are 700-800 yards. Here are some elk that were roughly 1-mile out for comparison.

I am going to guess that is at low zoom (20x)... because the picture is a "circle", that typically tells me my scope was zoomed out. As I either zoom in digitally or with the scope, I get a more of a full frame picture. I have lots of other pictures. If you are trying to learn something specific feel free to ask. I have used lots of spotters in my life and have plenty of feedback to share. Where we hunt, we try to only shoot 6x6 or better. So with this scope, I was able to tell 5 and 6 points apart out past 1 mile. At 2+ miles, I can tell pretty quick if its a bull worth chasing, or something to forget. Hope that helps.

I also do have an 80mm HD currently, so I am happy to shoot photo's to compare the two if that would help you make up your mind.
