Swarovski STS 65 Question

There is a small screw on the bottom of the Arca foot on the spotting scope directly under the post that connects the foot to the body. I am not talking about the thread reducer. Does anybody know what that screw is for? It almost looks like it could be used as a safety stop for mounting the spotting scope if loosened.

It is likely a set screw that plays a part for the attaching of the "foot" to the rotation ring. I wouldn't mess with it
