Hey guys! I have a T3 Tikka 30-06 with a 24" barrel that I am starting to reload for. I am wanting to shoot 178gr ELDX's due to the high BC and great performance at longer ranges. I have not reloaded this cartridge before, and I am relatively new to reloading. I was wondering if anyone has had luck shooting the ELDX bullet out of the tikkas and what OAL are you running? I have not measured my Lands yet, but have been told it might be difficult getting close to the Lands due to the magazine length. also, what recipe has provided good results? right now I am looking for a powder and primer combo, but it is extremely difficult due to the nationwide shortages. any info would be helpful!

Win 760 is an old reliable as well, use 180 gr data. I'm going to play around with Ramshot Hunter with my T3X '06 as soon as it warms up a bit.

A Hornady OAL gage was one of my best investments in handloading. And a loading manual, but I'm old school like that.

H4350 and either 168 or 175 smk have done very well for me.

Ramshot Hunter and magnum primers was the best combo for me with my Tikka 30-06.

Has anyone played with the Barnes tsx bullets or Hornady cx with the Tikka 30-06?
I have been working up a load with the 165 CX with Ramshot Big Game in my Tikka 30-06. So far I've be able to get just over an inch at 100. With some more fine tuning I should be able to get a bit better groups.

I just started reloading 300 win with 168 ttsx and across 15 charges I got a 15 shot .9" group. I had 2 fliers, minus those fliers I got more like .7". That was probably operator error. 300 win kicks good. No rifle is the same but you might have better luck with the 168 unless you ironed it out. My oal might have just been a good guess...

It woud be nice if tikka would speed up their barrel twist on the rest of the 30 caliber rifles. Their newer 300wm rifles are 1-10 twist, the 30-06 and 308 win still come with a 1-11" twist. Seemed anything heavier than about 180gr + bullets in my tikka 30-06 boar hunter wouldn't group as tight as it would in 150-160gr class weight range.
