The 22 creedmoor thread

Seems to be the consensus from what everyone else has posted. 80 gr ELDX in 22 Creed isn’t that awesome.

Maybe in factory loads but in hand loads the 80eldx have been the easiest to get to group with every powder that I have tried.

I had a little time this afternoon but was rushing it with the wind. Shot the 88s with 43 grains of n165. The group was better than any other powder I have tired with the 88s. I’ll play around with them more after hunting season.

First shots from mine and it seems to like the factory 80 eldx. Just mounted and bore sighted the scope so some of the scattered shots are me adjusting impact. Tikka action, ace 7.5 twist. Factory 80 eldx 100 yds

I was talking with my dad a few weeks ago and he mentioned wanting a truck gun for riding around the ranch. He's tired of running into skunks, badgers, etc and not having something with him. I had my new 18" Sig Cross Sawtooth 6.5 CM with me and once he handled it, he said to "buy me one".

He likes a fast 22 CF, so when I mentioned I could get him a 22 Creed barrel pretty easy, he was all for it. I purchased a Sawtooth 6.5 CM as well as a Proof 18" 22 Creed prefit. Swapped barrels and confirmed headspace in just a few minutes.

Will get it scoped here soon - thinking an NXS 2.5-10x would be just about right. Going to snag a few different boxes of factory ammo to see what it likes best, then just get him a whole case of it.

How are people liking the 69 ELDVT offering?

Do you mean "it seems TO like the factory 80 ELDX" ??

I'm officially giving up on 88's for this barrel. Sucks too because I have a "proper" throat for it and now it will be a mile long for everything else, but we'll see if that matters. I'll just pretend it's a poor man's +P...

Here's data for the masses:

Sierra finally released the 69 gr Blitzking as a component for sale ( I had previously only seen them in loaded 223 ammo).

If they behave like their 55 gr counterparts, these will be hell on varmints from a 22 CM. I bought 500 to try.

Has ANYONE gotten these damn things to shoot? Or the 80s for that matter?
I believe @huntnful has had success almost for sure with the 80's.
