I currently own a Tigoat 6.5 vertex and would like to go a little larger. I’m looking at a 8 man or 6 man tipi that will be used with a stove. I spent some time in my buddies Seekoutside 6 man tent this fall and fell in love with the stove (never used my small titanium stove before).

My problem…I’m kind of cheap, but enjoy quality.
He also owns a Nortent which I really liked as well, but would prefer a traditional tipi but that $2k plus price tag on the new SO is giving me pause.

What other brands are quality? Yet affordable? Tigoat isn’t making tipis anymore and i think I’ll be keeping my set up for solo trips. I do hunt out of a boat, so a little weight is ok, but I still want to keep weight down. I’m looking at some heavier stove options (buddy’s stove wasn’t light weight).

I really don’t want to look at canvas tents. Tipis or tipi types only. What other brands should I look at? I live/hunt the Alaskan bush.

Take a look at Bearpaw wilderness designs, I have the Luna 6 and it’s been used in several places for hunts. I also have a GoLite SL4 that I really dig.

I like simplicity, so I look for tipis that are square and this makes them easier for me to set up, especially by myself.

Keep an eye out in the classifieds, they will pop up from time to time.

Stuff sells on here that was never used or is used lightly

If you don’t need NOW - just keep an eye on here the next few months and you’ll be able to grab a nice set up and save several hundred vs new cost - for Seek

Love my Seek Outside Cimarron, had it for 6 seasons now, use it less and less now that I archery Hunt instead of Rifle hunting I have less use for such a big burly space, I can store things outside of my shelter during archery instead of having to have it inside the tent.
