I have been pouring over the internet trying to find an affordable, super lightweight, rock solid cure all rifle rest. I came up with this design. its rock solid and adds like 2 ounces to tripod weight. Setup time isnt the fastest but I've been looking for something for longer shots that need rock steady rest while in uneven or brushy country and can be used sitting or standing. I usually use my crossed trekking poles but that leaves some to be desired My question is will it work and are there enough of yall interested in it to justify me doing a step by step post?

Awsome design. I make quad pods that operate off the same principal but are not nearly as packable. How did you attach the shocking poles to the tripod legs?

They aren't necessarily "attached" think of it more as a pocket the trekking poles sit in. I'll take some more pics this evening. All said and done I think I've got <$5 in the setup as I already had the trekking poles and tripod (which I believe most people do)

Does this setup allow panning or elevation change while set up? Seems like it would be great for target shooting but you might fight it on a moving target

I dosen't allow for "panning" it's got some side play and quite a bit of up down. I've messed with it some and havent had issues getting on target but I do see where it could be an issue i believe I've got an easy fix for that issue ill address tonight and update with a way to still use this setup and beable to pan 90° or so
