Hello everyone,

I'm new to hunting black bear. However, we seem to always stumble across eachother's path constantly. I'm interested in hunting some public and private lands in this area.

Attached is the area I'd like to hunt. Inside dotted red line is off limits.

I can tell you I've found wild blueberry along this entire pond. I've seen a black bear cub in a tiny hemlock close to the top where its marked. I've seen bear scat in almost a curved line half way down between the pond and the bear pin. I retrieved it to try and figure out what it's feeding on but I'm not the best.

This area is heavily wooded, primarily connifers. Lots of pine and hemlock. I haven't seem much oak but there are some big maples. In NY we aren't allowed to use bait and I don't think I'd want to do it that way. We are allowed to use 1.5 fluid ounces of lure? Someone recommended half liquid smoke half organic apple cider vinegar.

Any suggestions on where you think I should be looking and a plan of action?
