Quick question for Vortex scope owners..

Is it possible to switch elevation turret from a capped turret to an exposed locking turret - I do NOT want custom yardage, just the standard 0.25MOA marks. I think I'd like to keep my windage turret as-is (capped). Are there any companies making these?

Great question! It is not possible to add a locking turret design to a turret system that doesn't already have that feature. If you are simply looking to leave the turret exposed, there is no harm in simply removing the cap and keeping it in your pocket or pack.

I see that you don't necessarily want a custom turret, but going this route would give a more "tactical" and easily accessible turret to dial. There are options to still have the 1/4 MOA adjustments till printed on as well through Kenton Industries: http://kentonindustries.com/custom-turrets/vortex

If you have any questions, please let me know!

I think the Vortex HSLR is what you are describing. Exposed elevation turret and capped windage.

Edit to add that it does not lock.

I should have mentioned. Already have a first gen 3-15x42 LH with capped turrets.
