Washington Elk - GMU 621/638

Good Evening,

I got invited to archery hunt elk in the WA peninsula NE of Lake Quinalt in September. Has anyone hunted GMU 621 or 638? Any advice? This is my first time chasing Rosie’s in NW Washington.

I’ve read that in what I can find online so far, along with thick timber and steep terrain in places. But it also mentions nice bulls if you put in the work.

Sound doesn’t carry well in the thick timber, work on finding fresh sign and getting in tight. Rosie’s tend to cover less distance and be a bit more territorial than Rockies, so if you can get in a bull’s kitchen chances of him coming in are pretty high.
