I worked up in Aladdin, WY in 2019 and it’s some great hunting country. Congratulations

Bear lodge is one small area of the blackhills between Hulett and Sundance. Sand creek, Moskee, Beaver Cr, elk mountain, all areas of the black hills not considered the bear lodge 👍🏻

If you get in a pinch and are in the area a case of beer is cheaper at trailshead in sd than at buckhorn right on the border. But they both close fairly early. Buckhorn is a cool place to hang out though. If you venture to trailshead at night or come from deadwood watch out for elk crossing the road at the forest service maintenance shop.

Congrats on the property. How many acres do you have to own to qualify for those?

160 contiguous acres for deer and antelope tags, must be used by deer and antelope for at least 2000 hours during a 12 month period

640 contiguous acres for elk tags, must be used by elk for at least 2000 hours during a 12 month period

I'm sure you have a good head on your shoulders but make sure you know where the property line is at. Caution tape tied on limbs I'd a dead give away someone is not certain where the line is at. About twice a month I see someone put up a stack of no trespassing signs only to build a road on the neighbor or try and run utilities on the neighbor. I'm sure you are aware just a heads up.

A survey is some of the best money you can spend

Did it change to 640 for elk this year or something? I thought it was 160 and I can only find mention of 160 in Wyoming regulation. I believe Montana is 640 for elk.
