What three upper body layers/pieces do you wear on a western backpacking hunt in November? Excluding raingear.

I'm in New Mexico so might be dressing a little less warm than some other folks but I like a First Lite Kiln hoodie, a fleece for wind resistance and then a jacket like the Uncompaghre Foundry because it's a weatherproof and durable puffy so I don't have to take an addtional layer.

200g merino half zip, hooded super down pro, and a hard shell covers the vast majority of situations for me. Throw in a fleece if it’s super cold.

Kryptek Cronos fleece sweater, Browning Packable Puffer, and a Kryptek Eldax that comes on/off as needed. That works for me the vast majority of time. Usually a T-shirt of some kind worn underneath. If it’s going to be particularly cold, I’ll switch out/add in a Njord jacket.

Base - FL wick hoody or SG synthetic
Mid - sitka ambient hoody/alpha direct
Exterior (wind or moisture) - SG M7 when moving, Sitka Hyperdown Puffy static

Moving top and bottom-
Brynje merino fish net
Mid weight merino
Kuiu Chugach shell

Glassing same as moving put add super down pro top and bottom.

Always on: 150 weight merino crew or hoodie, kuiu 97 hoodie, wind jacket (currently using BO specter)

In pack for glassing or worse weather: kuiu active puffy vest, Puffy jacket, rain shell.
