Was butchering a buck I shot recently and noticed these. Almost look like a miniaturized version of the sarcocyst parasite that causes rice breast in ducks. Animal was a 4.5 year old extremely healthy whitetail buck taken in coastal Virginia, and they seemed to be pretty evenly distributed throughout the muscular tissue of the entire animal. Anyone seen something similar?

If you're highlighting the somewhat horizontal lines in that circle I'm gonna say thats just small strips of fat laying in the striations of the muscle. I can be wrong possibly.

Could be I suppose. Cleaned a doe since shooting this one and was specifically looking for something similar, and didn't see it anywhere.
