Are the Maven binos really that good? They say they save money selling direct that the customer gets a optic similar quality to optics 2x’s more expensive. Anyone seen these binos side by side with a razor or some bino of similar magnification and quality? I just want to know if I spend $950 I’m getting a bino worth $950 or like they say twice as much..and how is build quality and durability?

I have a set of 9x B2s that I picked up in the classifieds. I’d say they’re definitely a step up from the vortex razors. I’ve heard many people say they’re almost on par with Swaros at half the price. Going from diamondbacks(which I thought were pretty decent) to the Mavens was mind blowing.

I have a pair of the b2s in 9x45 and they are very clear. My dad has Swarovski El in 10x42 and I have looked through both side by side during mid day mind you and I can't tell a difference with my eyes. I haven't had a chance to look and compare them at low light. I wouldn't be afraid to spend the money on them. They have a lifetime warranty also.

I have 9x and 11x b2s as well as 8x and 10x b1s, I also have SLC 10x42s. I have spent time with many of the common $1k-ish binoculars, I have not seen meopta or GPO, and I obviously think the Mavens are the ticket. There is a difference to my eyes between any and my swarovskis.

I think the C1's are overrated. The B2's on the other hand are every bit as good as people claim. If it weren't for their larger size I'd have purchased the B2's instead of the SLC's that I ended up getting.

Well I might need to demo some b series binos. Take them to Montana with me and see if I can spot a black bear. Question is 10x b1 or a 11x b2??

I prefer the shape of the b1 but that’s based purely on cosmetics. Probably demo the b2 11x. Has anyone demoed then bought the demo pair?

I just got the B3 in 8x30 and am very impressed. I also have an older pair of Leica trinovids in 8x32 that my wife uses now. The B3s are equal to the Leicas which honestly shocked me.

The sweet spot for the Maven B2 is occupied by the 9x45, go there in my experience. You will like the greater depth of field of the 9x and won't miss any detail.

To answer your original pot, I'd say the Maven B series is indeed the rel deal.

I have 10x vortex viper hds at the moment. I’m sure 9x vs 10x won’t be noticeable. I’m sure the glass will be a major step up from the vortex(even though they have served me well)

Maven is the real deal. I run the C1s. A buddy runs the 9x B2s. They're great glass.

I have compared the B1 10x42 and Razor 10x42 and the mavens were way better. sold the Razors as fast as I could.

I think the 9x is the one to get if your looking at the B2.

I have the B2's.....9X45 and love them......its money to put them on a tripod. 377' field of view and so clear and bright. I am considering getting the B4's in 15X. I don't think you will regret getting a pair.
