Who remembers when Kifaru only offered packs in one color?....Black with the camo panels! and there were only a couple models of packs to choose from?
The old days! Now Kifaru offers many different models and colors much thanks to Aron! Long live Kifaru

The Kifaru Siwash was an awesome pack!

I do. My first K pack was the G1 Siwash in, you guessed it, black. Wish I wouldn't have sold it.

Nice Bull Justin. I came late to the Kifaru club, so I have no idea of any previous gear!

I do, I got one of the very first G2's. Warms the heart seeing an American Company do well.

I still have a G1 Late Season and a G1 Siwash. I use the Late Season as a ski pack and the Siwash makes a great travel bag.

still running my 10+ year old longhunter duplex its packed a ton of critter over the years.

I remember when Patrick PM'ed me to tell me he was planning on making packs in a color other than black and then decided otherwise. For poops and grins I popped over to the Kifaru forum and checked PM's - my oldest goes back to 2007 and it was before that. I am glad he finally made the change.

It'a miracle anyone ever killed an animal without a camo pack. ;)

My old black Spike Camp is still a keeper but I'll gladly sell those camo panels, if I can find them.

I remember black only packs as well. I had a Gen 1 Siwash and it was a GREAT all around pack. I sold it to fund an MMR but I miss the Siwash. I also remember the paraponcho in yellow, when the 12 man with large stove was the biggest tipi combo they had, the super tarp was brand new, and the annex had not yet been invented. Where does the time go?

I still have a G1 black pack! The Siwash will always be my favorite! I sold my G1 and have a G2. I wanted the 24" Stays but miss the over the top straps from the G1. Great pictures Justin!

Only picture I have on this computer, but a G1 Spikecamp, my first Kifaru purchase.

I was using Kifaru when they offered Colorado made packs and overseas packs at a cheaper cost. Obviously that idea was done away with. Kifaru was great but would never be what it is today without Aron. Several of the thing being being done today were begged for 15 years ago. User input was not a consideration back then. I for one am extremely grateful for what Aron has been able to bring to light with Kifaru!!!

Patrick modified a Mt Smith climbers pack for me for 3 day elk hunts (ultra light) back in the mid '80s if memory serves me right. He was located on 6, 70, and Colfax in Golden at the time. Still have the pack but it sees little use. Got an early Longhunter about 2000 or so from him. Still going strong. These days the KU5200 sees the long trips and the Longhunter most of the meat packing. Great packs!
