Will he make P&Y ? Any guess on a score?

I'm not experienced scoring bears but I think I got a good one. Colorado bear, Biologist estimated his age at minimum of 15 yrs but thought he may be over 20..

Their super easy to score can get a rough idea before drying top of skull with no jaw length and widest part. Needs 18 inches to make p&y. Great bear either way!

It is a nice bear. If you have the skull you can get a rough score very easily and quickly.

While the skull appears to be wide, it's length (specifically the snout) is short (relatively speaking).

No matter the final score, it is a nice bear and the skull will get folks' attention.

Nice bear regardless of score.
Bears are easy to score once you have the skull in hand. With the hide on, it's really hard to tell. I've seen fat headed bears that looked huge till the wrapper came off and others that didn't look that big make the book.

Border tempest riser border cv9 limbs 55# arrows weighed 505 grains with iron will components and 100g IW solid heads. Was elk hunting with my son who is 13 were were seeking through some oak brush and I looked over and this beast is standing 10 yrs away looking at us. I stop my son who got big eyed lol. As I got an arrow out of the quiver the bear bolted and ran about 10 more yards and up a huge Pinon pine tree. He stopped about 20 ft up and I put an arrow in him, then he climbed to roughly 75+ ft up the tree. After about 3 minutes he just died and free fell to the ground. The thud of him hitting will be etched in my mind forever.

If you get a full size, shoot a dink next year.

Sucks shooting a big one and doing a life size just to repeat the feat the next year (even more gorgeous coat) and having the SO adamantly saying "hell no" (rated G version) to another life size bear.

Update I got the skull back from the taxidermist I measured it at just over 19.5" so should have my name in the books soon. Thank you all for the info and congratulations.

That is great! He looks bigger than the one I killed this year, which just taped at 18-7/8" so it stands to reason that he ended up bigger. It is amazing to me how much bigger they have to get to get the extra 2 inches to get to B&C size.
