What do you folks do to not only pass time, but actually enjoy the cold, snowy weather for several months of the year in the PNW/Canada?

Curious to see what others are doing, the usual answer of "snowboard and snowmobile" can't be the only things people are doing.

Also, what about getting into the mountains during the melt when there's still a good amount of snow. Snowshoeing and tracked up ATVs? A tracked vehicle is quite a damned investment to make.

Stay active in the winter especially for old guys🤙Tracked machines are super in the spring when you have mixed conditions, pricey but will last decades if serviced and not abused

Use to snowmobile but that got too expensive.
Snowboarded for a bit but sold my board and boots with the intention of getting new ones and never did.
Use to ice fish but went through the ice once and refuse to go by myself anymore.

I really need to find a winter hobby outside of drinking beer.

I generally wait until late March to start looking for sheds. Don't like pushing the animals around. I have a pair of snowshoes somewhere and have toyed with the idea of getting a pair of cross country skis. I had the bright idea of getting a split board because I like boarding better, then looked at the price and promptly shit myself.

I can see that, still plenty of snow around here too.

Make sure you get some backcountry cross-country skis. You want them long and wide :)
Back in Sweden I have a pair of wooden ones, just around 2m long and about 3" wide. Awesome for the flats, not great in mountains...

Well, think about it, there are a lot of kids born several months after adults being penned up for a few months. That's one very enjoyable pass time.

Fish. You got some big lakes with monster trout in them. Burbot, kings, kokanee, pike.
