An even better deal, have the option to stay at a lower tax and allow public access to the landlocked public, or just pay the full price for your trophy land.

I would wager a good portion of western state legislators are large landowners, Idaho certainly has its fair share. They aren’t going to get crossways with Farm Bureau and increase tax liability on their land.

This is great news for all the states in that district. Bid win for public land hunters.
But it doesn’t mean we can just go around hopping imaginary corners. One needs to find actual boundary marker which is not easy.
Here’s where companies/organizations like OnX, BHA, RMEF etc have an opportunity to come together and have surveys done (that’s how I imagine these things to work) and have those markers properly marked. Heck if it cost extra few bucks as OnX layer I’d pay for it.

Seems I read somewhere that the landowners would be responsible for staking and flagging their corners. Curious to know how that will be handled...

Has anyone spoken with the CO game and fish about this? I hunt a unit where I’ve been harassed by an outfitter about getting to close to corners and when I filed a complaint on the last hunt the game warden was awesome but told me they actually have a state law about corner crossing that they site under. Wonder how that will go in a couple weeks on my 3rd season hunt… plan to test this as I’ve always wanted to go to the land locked block of land the outfitter treats as private.
Called the warden and left a message to see but nothing back yet.
