I was just reading an article that talks about the need to thin the Yellowstone Buffalo herd by 6-900 animals. And they talked about using hunters. It’s something I’m highly interested in and wondered if anybody else had read or heard any further details about this topic. I applied for the multiple different cull opportunities as of late, including the Arizona Buffalo cull without any success and wondered if it was going to be as weird as those. Sounds like most of the culls with hunters have not been as successful as they thought they would be. Anyway here’s a link to the article. Please share if you’ve heard anymore as I have a hankering for some delicious bison meat!!
Deal reached to reduce Yellowstone's bison herd by 600-900
Officials have agreed to allow as many as 900 bison from Yellowstone National Park to be shot by hunters, sent to slaughter or placed in quarantine this winter in a program that seeks to prevent the animals from spreading a disease to cattle.
