Zeiss V4 6-24x50 vs Steiner P4xi 4-16x56

Looking for opinions on these two scopes for a hunting rifle in the 7.5 lb range. Can acquire both for about $800 right now & that fits the budget. I have a V4 already & have no complaints, just wondering if anyone has a Steiner or has handled both?

more concerned with glass quality & tracking over ffp/sfp or moa/mil. I have a V4 & will get another unless I’m convinced the Steiner is more bang for my buck

The weight of the Steiner for only 16x would be a dealbreaker for me but to each his own.

I’m assuming he wants exposed elevation so these are difficult to compare to the scopes he asked about.

The 30 oz is a huge negative indeed & it would be much more attractive as a 5-20 but just wondering if there’s anything that touches a V4 in the sub $1000 range for dialing out to 1000 with good glass?

IMO 6-24 is more power then I would want on anything but a dedicated varmint rig.

To each their own on that. I prefer a 20-24 max power on a rifle with long range capability but 16 would be adequate for taking big game a longer distance
