Thanks for all the input guys. I'm taking a trip to Boise for a vacation in May, I'm going to swing by exo's HQ and check one out personally. I was really hoping to hear a lot of good about the 3500 haha. Anyone think they could get 3-4days out of a 2000+lid?

I personally like the layout of the 3500. In the end, I sold my 3500 and picked up a 5500 and a 2000 to have a more versatile setup but I still really like the layout of the larger bags. The 5500 in daypack mode is literally the same compact size as the 3500 but opens up when you need the extra space. The 2000 has a bit more organization but weighs about the same as the 3500 and I typically only use it for day hunting situations. I think 3-4 days out of the 2000 would be tough for the average guy without using the load shelf but if you are an ultra light for you might make it work.

No way just using the bag and I pretty much have the lightest most compact gear. With the 2000 you may be able to do 2 days.

I think you could with a drysack wedged between frame and bag but I think that is what you are getting at when you said "No way just using the bag"
