So, I've got some cordage with reflective materials as pulls on my pack. I have also been really liking my Simms rain jacket (made of Toray fabric) but it has some reflective accents on it as well. It stood up to constant rain and snow for 2 weeks in Alaska and I was thoroughly impressed.
Anyway, I was just curious if anyone has seen any studies on whether reflective materials can been seen and spook animals. During daylight, I don't really ever notice the reflective stuff any more than the regular material. It doesn't stand out like it does at night. However, since animals see things differently, I was just curious if they can detect it like we see it at night. I'm not overly concerned about it but thought it would be an interesting topic.
